Today I will show you one of my favorite places to visit...that is Kohimarama Veterinary Clinic! Do you think I am strange, as most dogs don't have good experience with the vet? But, I always look forward to visiting them.
The reason why I like the place is I attended a four-week course of puppy classes there and had so much fun with my teacher and classmates.
There were only three of us puppies in the class, Summy the Bichon Frise, Jack the Jack Russel, and me.
In the last class we learnt to get used to strange environments and noise using various stuff humans had brought, such as a vacuum cleaner, a party hat, and fairy costume.
Because I had so much fun at the veterinary clinic and the staff there always give me treats on my each visit, I love the place so much! Among others my favorite nurse is the one who taught us in puppy classes. Whenever she sees me, she says "Cinnamon! Oh my little friend!" and gives me lots of hugs, so I give her lots of kisses in return.
Yesterday I visited the clinic again for an injection of Pentosan, medicine for my hip joints. It was the last on the second four-week weekly course, so I am not visiting the clinic again for the next few month unless I get sick or something, which hopefully is not the case.
Actually I was thinking about posting some photos my dad had taken at the clinic yesterday, but unfortunately his new camera broke after our vet visit and was sent to Japan to go into the manufacturer's camera hospital for repair!! So, no photos!! My dad is so disappointed because he was enjoying taking photos with his new camera, which was only three and a half months old!!
Oh no, Cinnamon - my human was cringing when she heard about your Dad's camera! She can really sympathise because she says she can't live without her camera! I hope it gets repaired and comes back soon.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way as you about my vet back in Auckland - I LOVE them! I also went to puppy school there so I always associate it with fun and good things. I think it is a great idea to have puppy schools at vet clinics.
I was so sad to leave my vet in Auckland - they were really wonderful and so open-minded and supportive about everything - here in Brisbane, we have having trouble finding a good vet. My humans have tried 2 different ones - one was very ignorant about the raw diet and gave them a big lecture (!) and the other one had terrible "bedside manners" - he didn't even introduce himself to me or let me sniff him or anything but just grabbed me and stuck a thermometer in my bum! Lucky for him I'm such a good-natured dog otherwise he might have got bitten! Hsin-Yi was so mad. And when she asked him to give me a treat, he looked at her like she was crazy...(sigh) so now my humans are trying to find a different vet for me again.
Anyway, sorry to go off topic! Thanks for sharing your photos - you were SO cute as a puppy! And I really like that you are writing the blog now - it's great hearing about your life from your point of view!
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
Wow that is rough about the camera!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you love your vet. I just started going to a new one and I don't really like it at all. They had to take me away from Mom to clean my ears out and it hurt so bad!
I'm glad your injections are done. I hope you feel better now. :)
Jackal
Thanks for stopping by. Jackal's ears are doing much better. He isn't shaking his head near as much, but there is still irritation deep down in them. I haven't been treating them long though, so I'm sure it will improve. The stupid steroids are making him drink so much though that he's having to pee constantly and he peed in the house for the first time in a year and a half!!
ReplyDeletelook forward to see more pictures! don't get sick, stay well and healthy (:
ReplyDeleteMomma makes sure that we all like the vet. I am most happy to go there too as I get tons of snuggles and attentions. When I was a baby sometimes I went there even when I wasn't sick just so that I could see how nice everybody was.
ReplyDeleteSlobbers,
Mango
We have a really nice vet, too! That stinks about the camera. :-(
