Progress in my dancing

Hi! It's Cinnamon.

It's been very wet here in Auckland for the last several days, so I haven't been able to practise dancing at a tennis court of a nearby primary school where I usually practise with my Mum. On Thursday, Mum and I went to Ardmore New Zealand Kennel Club Exhibition Centre for training, as there is an indoor arena where I can practise whatever the weather is.

The arena is used by many different groups every day. (On Tuesdays, obedience nights, some seventy dogs gather there for training!) But, on Thursday only five people and their dogs, including us, were using the facility. As Mum had changed some part of our routine, we focused on the changed part at first and then did the whole routine. Here is a video of the latest version of our routine.

After doing the routine, Mum praised me for not reacting when another dog started barking in the arena (You can hear it in the video). I hope I can stay calm like I did on Thursday, when I dance at an upcoming competition.

  1. Wow, Cinnamon! Awesome job! And even I got distracted by the dog barking.

    Mum's a pretty good dancer, too! :-)

  7. Oh Cinnamon! Your competition is on Thursday! GOOD LUCK! GOOD LUCK! I'll be thinking of you!~!!

I'm so sorry I haven't visited in AGES - havign so much computer trouble - but hopefully things back to normal now!

That was the most AWESOME routine! I love the new beginning with the pivoting on the stool. And I also LOVE the way you did leg weaving at 2 different speeds - that's very original and creative! (I can only do 1 speed: SLOW - hee! hee!)

I can't wait to see your routine with the music - and also your new costume! Oh I'm so excited! GOOD LUCK!!!

  10. It seems it is not going to be a competition, and instead it is going to be a demo, because they didn't get enough entries to make it a competition...

  13. Hey Cinnamon, that was me barking cos I was tied up on the wall while Mum taught a class and a big dog looked at me funny!!! Glad I could help provide distraction therapy for you - there is no charge. Well done for keeping on going. The Barking Bodester.
