Hi! It's Cinnamon.
Today I am telling you about what we were doing recently.
Over a week ago, we were told to get in the car and driven to somewhere we had never been. When we arrived there, Mum told us to wait in the car for a while and went into a nearby building. After a while, Mum came back with two leads, put them on us, and told us to get out of the car.
Because it was a new place, we had to check everything and every smell. Then, a man came out of the building and guided us through a gate into the backyard where several dogs were barking at us over a fence.
Next, the man opened a gate to an empty enclosure and let us in. Again, there were so many new interesting smells that we got very excited exploring the place.
But, when we realised, Mum had gone. We didn't know what was happening.
At first I thought that Mum would come back to take us home soon, but she didn't. Then, I knew that it was a so-called boarding kennel or pet hotel. I had stayed in one of them with Cookie before, but Mint hadn't. Being an older sister, I decided to take the responsibility to look after my younger brother, Mint, until our humans came back.
In fact we had a great time, playing with a couple of Spaniels and a Border Collie in the daytime while we were staying there. I have to admit though that I missed my humans a lot especially at night.
Six days later, Mum finally came back and brought us home! Nowhere is better than home after all!!
This is me resting at home after a week stay at a kennel.
This is Mint.
When our humans saw us at the kennel on their return, they were smiling of course, but those smiles seemed to have a somewhat different meaning. What do you think they said to us, as soon as they saw us? They said "You both have gained weight!!" Hmmmph! How rude they are!! Yes, it is true that we had lost our beautiful waist lines, but let me tell you that I had them back as soon as the next day. We just had constipation, staying in a new environment... Hee hee.
lol, you both look exhausted after your tiring week at the kennel! Sounds like an exciting experience!
ReplyDeleteHello there Cinnamon and Mint,
ReplyDeleteYou are good sport pups for staying at the puppy hotel while your hoomans were not home. We got to say that your photo inside the kennel is adorable.
You did have your share of adventure, too, right? And for your waistlines to uhmm... disappear, you did get rewarded with lots of treats, huh!
You're right, though, there still is no place like home!
Love,
Piappies Fudgie, Princess, Frappie, Mocha, Sugar, Wai-Max, Wai-Pai & Forgie
Aw, you did a good job as a big sis explaining that whole situation! Hope your peeps had a good time and hope you are feeling regular again!
ReplyDeleteAt least you were there to help Mint. Home is best.
ReplyDeletelove & wags,
River
We're baaaack... with a new blog! yay! :)
ReplyDeletePoor Cinnamon & Mint, I bet they missed their humans when they were in the kennels!
Looks like a very beautiful kennel to stay in! I'm glad you guys had fun. :D
ReplyDeleteHi Cinnamon - well, I had the sneak preview of your time in kennels through your human's FB but it was nice to hear the story in your words! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad your "weight gain" was just a temporary thing - ha! ha!
Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
Sounds like you had a great time while your humans were away even if it was a little stressful at times - just think of it as a learning curve :)
ReplyDeleteWe have never had to stay in a place like that! We either go with our humans or if they can't take us. One of their parents comes and lives with us and looks after us!
Licks and lots of slobber,
Lexi and Jasper the Danes
The kennel you stayed looks like an interesting place to sniff around! Hope your Mom and Dad were not too worried. Ah, got back the sexy waistline yet? ;)
