Yesterday I went to the North Shore Dog Training Club's grounds on the North Shore to take a CGC (Canine Good Citizen) assessment test.
Well, although I didn't tell you about it, I took a CGC test four and a half months ago at Ardmore KZKC Exhibition Centre ... and failed, because I was very excited and jumped at people. But, I can tell that it was Mum's fault, as she knew about the assessment only several days before the day, so I had to do it without any preparation!
(In fact it was unfair!!! When Cinnamon took an assessment test for CGC Foundation and passed it two years ago, she attended a preparation class where she practised every exercise involved in the assessment beforehand. Mum even took her to busy streets by car every day for the week before the assessment, so that Cinnamon could practise meeting other dogs in the street.)
But, one of the assessors on the last assessment day encouraged us a lot and even sent Mum a copy of document that explains what has to be done and what must not be done in the assessment. So, this time we could do some practise before the assessment. For example, she took me to a garden centre, a pet shop, a farmers market, and a vet as well as several different parks that we rarely go to.

On the assessment day we got up very early in the morning and went to an off-leash dog park and played with a ball before heading for the venue.

We arrived at the grounds of the North Shore Dog Training Club well over one hour before the test started. But, it was good for us. As the organisers hadn't started setting up for the assessment, we could have a walk around the grounds so that I could get used to the environment. I even had a good run with dogs of one of helpers for the assessment.
Waiting for my turn |
In the assessment I worked very hard!! My great friend, Quest the Boxer, was also taking the test, which made me feel relaxed.
And the results are ...
Both Quest and I passed the Foundation and the Bronze!! Hooray, the Team B's!!

There is something I need to mention. Cinnamon waited with Dad at home so that Mum and I could concentrate on the assessment. Thank you, Cinnamon and Dad!
