Resurgence of Escape Artist!

Whether I should praise it or not, Cinnamon did it again!!

Cookie and Cinnamon always stay in their crates in a small hallway when their humans are out, and usually they are lying down in there quietly when we come home. But, about a week ago, when I entered the house from the backyard as I usually do, I heard a little noise and also Cinnamon's barks. Then, I went over to the hallway and found that Cinnamon was out of her crate.

At that time, I thought that I might have forgot to lock the crate door. But, after similar incidents repeated a couple of times, I came to think that Cinnamon had learned to unlock the door. And yesterday she did it again!!

At the beginning of this post, I said "Cinnamon did it again!!" because it was not the first time she escaped from a place which we thought would be secure enough to keep Cinnamon inside. When she was as little as two months old, she escaped from her puppy pen a few times. How she made it is still a mystery. When she did it, the pen was closed intact. The only possible explanation would be that she climbed the fence or crate and jumped (or fell) outside!

Cinnamon, are you genius or just so determined to do whatever you decide to do?

Well, I showed a video of Cookie and Cinnamon practicing 'Stand' the other day. Now Cinnamon has finally learned to Stand only with a verbal command!

  4. Oh well done, Cinnamon!! You are such a clever girl and you learn so quickly!! And wow - what concentration! I could never do so many Stands, Sits & Downs in a row...hee! hee!...after 3, I would just get fed up and go to my bed for a nap! :-)

I also love the way you "stack" yourself when you stand (with your back legs stretched out) - do you know how many show dogs' owners would KILL to get their dogs to do that? They are always pushing and pulling with their hands to try and get their dogs to arrange their legs like that!

But...ooh, you are a naughty girl to escape! I hope your humans manage to find a solution to your new 'little problem'!! :-)

  8. Cinnamon and Kess can be best pals. Kess is an amazing escape artist and has managed to scale our 6 foot fence before. Check out this post and see how a beagle named Sophia escapted from her outdoor pen. It truly is amazing.

  9. And someone thinks that beagles are stubid. Mom keeps saying that we keep our humans brains busy when they need to solve our little "tricks" when we solve their easy puzzles (like trash cans)
