Mint's debut in an obedience competition

Hi! It's Cinnamon.

Mint finally made a debut in an obedience competition at Manukau Dog Training Club's Championship Obedience Tests. When we entered a competition in April, Mum took advantage of the opportunity and 'practised' with us using a toy and food, instead of competing. But, this time we actually competed!!

This time again I went first and Mint next. I think I did well enough to make Mum happy. But, apparently Mint did even better, so Mum chose him to do the Stays with, and he got placed the 3rd in the Elementary class!!

According to Mum, Mint got two points deducted in the Heelwork, because he stopped and turned back to see a dog that was practising in an unused ring next to our ring. She says that Mint did very well otherwise. Also, it turned out that my point deduction was only two pints and a half, which means that I might have been placed as well if I had done the Stays.

Sorry, this time we have no videos to show you because our cameraman, our dad, didn't go to the competition. But instead he took a photo of Mint with his ribbon and prize at home.

The next competition is two weeks away. I will do my best so that Mum chooses me to do the Stays with next time!

Before I go, I would like to remind my blog friends that I am not ignoring them. I still can't comment on my friends' Blogger blogs. I hope the problem will be solved soon!!

I can not save my comments on Blogger posts

Hi! It's Cinnamon.

I just wanted to let my friends know that I haven't been able to save my comments on their Blogger blog posts for the last week or so. I don't know why, but every time I click on the Publish or Preview button, Blogger directs me to the sign-in page. When I sign into Blogger again, it brings me back to the Comments window, and then the same thing happens again!

So, I have not been ignoring you!! I will say Hello to you as soon as the system allows me to do that again.

In the meantime, I would appreciate it if anyone could help me solve this problem. I tried it using Internet Explorer and Firefox. Is there anyone experiencing the same problem?

Because Blogger is being mean to me, I am having a rest for now.

Mint's first try at an agility course

Hi! It's Cinnamon.

Did you know that Mint had been doing a little bit of agility training? He enrolled in a beginner agility class which started at Manukau Dog Training Club in early April, and he has been to the class four times so far, having missed three classes. This week he ran an agility course for the first time. He ran the course only twice, because we had to leave the class to go inside so that I could practise my new routine.

Here is a video of both of his first two runs.

I think he did very well! He took off as soon as his leash was taken off, but that's all right. That is something the instructor was expecting. Actually, at the beginning of the class, the instructor said that she had placed the number plates although the course was so simple that no one would need to rely on the numbers, because she wanted the dogs to get used to the plates, as some dogs might try to play with the plates, thinking they were toys. Mint did exactly what she had anticipated!! Ha ha!!

Our new handmade tags

Hi! It's Cinnamon.

When we received a little parcel from the United States last week, I wondered who it was from and what it was. Mum opened it up and we found a sweet little box and a lovely card like this.

Look at what we found in the box!! Our new tags!!

In addition to our new collars remade from our old Premier collars, our humans bought new tags for us, because we were still using our old tags with our old phone number three months after we moved out of our old house.

Don't you think they are beautiful? They look great especially on our new AroundAHound collars! Both our tags are two layered; Mint's one has got a red star over a round tag with his name engraved, and my one has got a crown engraved as 'Princess' over a round tag with my name engraved.

A few weeks ago Mum found a website called 'Etsy', where people sell handmade and vintage items. Each seller on the website has her/his own shop, and the shop we bought our new tags from is called 'Very Vintage'. Mum says that it was really hard to decide which ones to order, because there were so many unique and beautiful tags available from the shop.

Both Mint and I like our new tags. They clink as the two layers collide with each other when we move, just like little bells that cats wears on their collars. Our humans say that now they can tell where we are without actually seeing us.
